Good to Know

Questions, answered.

Everything worth knowing before you travel to Ladakh — from altitude and permits to packing, connectivity and booking. Still unsure? We're a message away.

Planning Your Trip

The main season runs May to September, when the roads are open and the days are warm, though the nights stay cold. For the region under snow, and the famous Chadar walk along the frozen Zanskar, winter (January to February) is extraordinary — but it asks more of you and is for the adventurous.
We suggest at least six or seven to acclimatise properly and take in Leh, Nubra and Pangong without rushing. Ten to fourteen days lets you add Tso Moriri, Zanskar or a trek.
Yes, for the restricted areas. Indian travellers need Inner Line Permits and foreign nationals need Protected Area Permits for places such as Nubra, Pangong, Tso Moriri and Khardung La. We handle all the paperwork — just share your ID, and passport and visa details, in advance.
It is one of the safest regions in India, with a warm and hospitable culture. We still recommend sharing your daily plans with us or your hotel, especially when trekking or heading somewhere remote.

Health & Altitude

Altitude affects every visitor, not only trekkers. Leh sits at around 11,500 feet, so we build acclimatisation days into every itinerary — resting and hydrated for the first day or two, with no high passes too early — and our guides are trained to spot the early signs. Many travellers carry Diamox after speaking with their own doctor before the trip.
Often, yes, with the right pace. We advise a doctor's consultation first for anyone with heart or respiratory conditions, and we can design slower acclimatisation, shorter driving days and comfortable stays for families and older travellers.

Logistics & Connectivity

By air, into Leh's Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport, with daily flights from Delhi. By road, along the Srinagar to Leh and Manali to Leh highways — both spectacular, both open only in the warmer months.
Only Indian postpaid connections (BSNL, Airtel, Jio) work; prepaid SIMs from other regions do not. Signal is patchy to non-existent once you leave the main towns, so we suggest telling family you'll be out of contact on the remote legs.
From comfortable homestays and boutique guesthouses in Leh to camps, cabins and small hotels in Nubra and Pangong. Options shift with the season, as many remote camps run only May to September. We tailor the style to your comfort and budget.
Layers above all — a warm jacket, thermals and a windproof shell, even in summer, as the nights are cold. Sunscreen, sunglasses and lip balm are essential against the high UV, along with good trekking shoes, a reusable bottle and any personal medication. We send a full checklist once your trip is confirmed.

Booking & Payments

Reach out through our website, phone or email with your dates and interests. We'll send a tailored itinerary and quote, and confirm once you approve it and make the advance payment.
Terms depend on how far ahead you cancel and the bookings involved, such as non-refundable homestays or permits. We put the exact policy in writing at the time of booking, so there are no surprises.
Yes. We offer popular set packages, but most travellers prefer a journey shaped around them — photography, trekking, monasteries, motorbiking or a gentle family holiday.

Activities & Experiences

Favourites include Sham and Aryan valleys, Pangong, Nubra with its dunes and double-humped camels, Khardung La, Hanle, Tso Moriri, the monasteries of Thiksey and Hemis, and Magnetic Hill. We help you prioritise around the time you have.
Yes, for every fitness level — from short day walks near Leh to multi-day routes like Markha Valley and the winter Chadar trek, always with experienced local guides and proper safety planning.
We offer self-drive and chauffeur-driven options as well as motorbike rentals. Given the terrain and altitude, we recommend a local driver or guide for anyone new to mountain roads.
